Preußen Danzig

The SC Preußen Danzig was a football club based in Gdańsk.

History

In 1909, the football section was founded in 1860 Gymnastics and Fencing Club Prussia Danzig ( today this to Hamburg) was launched. In 1921 this department split off by the name of SC Preußen Danzig.

In the 1920s, played the footballers of the club in the district league Danzig and was here in 1921, 1923 and 1924 win the championships. After the introduction of Gauligen for season 1933/34, Gdańsk were immediately East Prussian masters. In the final round of the German football championship was one Table of the preliminary round.

After relegation from the Gauliga 1938 and direct re-emergence in 1939 of the club in 1940 the new Sportgau Danzig-West Prussia was assigned. Here Prussia Danzig continued superior to 20:0 with 54:9 points and gates. In the final round of the German football championship but it failed in the preliminary round of forward - turf sports Gliwice and the LSV Stettin.

In subsequent years, the club could not build on his earlier successes. With the end of World War II in 1945, the club ceased to exist.
