Primo Conti

Umberto Primo Conti ( born October 16, 1900 in Florence, † November 13, 1988 in Fiesole ) was an Italian painter and writer of Futurism and of the Novecento.

Life

With 10 years of Conti already visited the art school in Florence and learns Eugenio Chiostri 1911 Alberto Viviani know who brings him a friend of Marinetti in 1913 with Soffici, Palazzeschi and Papini in contact, whom he meets at an exhibition of the artists newspaper Lacerba. Artistically inspired by Conti in his first time on Boccioni and may increase following the Florentine group of futurists, gathered around the newspaper L' Italia LETTERARIA. His first major literary work is the novel Imbottigliature he 1917/1918 releases. 1918 commissioned him Settimelli with the management of the magazine L' Italia Futurista. Besides, he published in Herwarth Walden's Der Sturm magazine and brings in 1919 with Il Centone publishes its own magazine. Latter, however, finds little favor with Marinetti, since they could no longer be described as futuristic. In fact, Conti begins at this time already from Futurism to solve and how Carlo Carrà and Giorgio de Chirico with Pittura metafisica to deal to become involved in the art direction Novecento later.
