Primondo
Primondo was the holding company for all shipping trademarks of insolvent Arcandor AG (formerly Karstadt Quelle AG ) since 1 March 2007.
Primondo understood itself as a holding company, which does not occur as a brand at the end customer. Rather, primondo saw as a house of brands ( House of Brands ) from Universal and special shipping. Well-known examples are source, Hess Natur, Bogner home shopping or baby rolling. Since June 2007, the shopping channel HSE24 belonged to primondo group. For primondo approximately 20,000 employees worked in 28 countries.
Among the global competitors of primondo included companies such as Amazon.com, the Otto Group and Redcats (PPR ).
History
On 9 June 2009 the primondo GmbH has applied for insolvency proceedings at the district court in Essen.
Divisions
In the area of universal mail the mail order companies internationally active source was located. The source group generated in the financial year 2007/2008 with its 17 foreign companies, the field of photo source Profectis and SB wholesale an annual turnover amounting to 2.9 billion euros. In total, around 8,000 people were employed at Universal Shipping. In the context of insolvency proceedings Source Germany is liquidated, the brand name, private label and source Russia were sold to the Otto Group.
Special Shipping
In the area of special shipping were a total of 18 brands to find under the umbrella of primondo that were represented by more than 5,000 employees in 13 countries. The fiscal year revenues 2007/2008 was around one billion euros for the entire division.
New Media
HSE24 is with around 1.3 million customers and a reach of 39 million households in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and an annual turnover 2007/2008 of 349 million euros, the number two in the German teleshopping market by QVC. Around 500 employees work for HSE 24. The station was sold to the French private equity firm Axa Private Equity in November 2009. Since March 2010, Axa Private Equity holds 88 % stake, the HSE24 management the remaining 12 %.
Myby was an electronics and multimedia retailer, which had been built in cooperation with the Axel Springer AG since late 2007. Myby was represented only in e-commerce and therefore allocated to the business segment "New Media ". In December 2009 Myby was sold to the belonging to the REWE Group consumer electronics chain ProMarkt and later integrated into promarkt.de.
Service group
In the service group that are important for a mail order business units such as customer service centers, logistics, financial services and IT were located. In total, around 6,000 people were employed in the service group. Among others were in this group, the accounting and the optical archive, where the supplier invoices are digitized with high-performance scanners.
The individual groups also accepted commissions from foreign companies.

In November 2010, the Carlyle Group six specialist mail Primondo Specialty Group (PSG ) took over: Elegance, Baby Walz, The Modern Housewife, Planet Sports, Bon'A Parte, Mirabeau, and a 50 % share of Vertbaudet ( joint venture with the Redcats group).
