Prince Charles William of Hesse-Darmstadt

Karl Wilhelm of Hesse- Darmstadt ( born June 17, 1693 Nidda, † May 17 1707 in Gießen ) was a Prince of Hesse -Darmstadt.

Life

Karl Wilhelm was the second son of the Landgrave Ernst Ludwig of Hesse -Darmstadt (1667-1739) from his marriage to Dorothea Charlotte (1661-1705), daughter of Margrave Albrecht of Brandenburg- Ansbach.

At the age of four years his father appointed him colonel of the newly build Hesse -intestinal Municipal District Regiment. Two years later, the education of Karl Wilhelm Johann Konrad Dippel was to pass in Giessen, where the Landgrave's family had fled from the French troops.

Karl Wilhelm died at the age of 13 during the Spanish War of Succession, his younger brother Prince Franz Ernst von Hesse -Darmstadt took his regiment place.
