Prince Gustav of Denmark

Prince Gustav of Denmark, full name Christian Friedrich Wilhelm Waldemar Gustav of Denmark ( born March 4, 1887 Castle Charlottenlund, Copenhagen, † October 5, 1944 at Schloss Egelund ) was a member of the House of Schleswig -Holstein -Sonderburg- Glücksburg, a branch line of the House of Oldenburg.

Life

Gustav was the fourth son of the Danish King Frederick VIII (1843-1912) and his wife Princess Louise Josephine Eugenie (1851-1926), only child of King Charles XV. of Sweden - Norway and Princess Louise of Orange-Nassau.

In 1915 he became captain à la suite.

Prince Gustav was life unmarried and had no children. As Prince of Denmark, he was buried on the traditional burial place of the royal family in Roskilde Cathedral.
