Prince Michael of Greece and Denmark

Michael of Greece ( born January 7, 1939 in Rome, Italy) is the only child of the Greek Prince Christopher of Greece and his second wife Princess Françoise Louise Marie Isabelle of Orléans.

Life

Michael of Greece and Denmark was born on January 7, 1939 in Rome. He is a grandson of the Greek King George I and Olga Romanova Konstantinovna. His father Christopher of Greece died a year after his birth. He grew up in Spain and France, before he studied economics in Paris. Subsequently, he did his military service in Greece and retired with the rank of third lieutenant in the service of.

On July 17, 1965, he married the Greek artist Marina Karella, the daughter of the bourgeois spouses Theodore Karellas and Elly Chalikiopoulos. Because of this morganatic marriage renounced Michael of Greece for himself and his future offspring to the Greek throne. Together they have two daughters:
