Princess Ida of Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym

Ida of Anhalt- Bernburg - Schaumburg- Hoym ( born March 10, 1804 in Schaumburg Castle, † March 31, 1828 in Oldenburg) was a princess of Anhalt- Bernburg - Schaumburg- Hoym and by marriage Princess Beatrice and Princess zu Lübeck to Holstein -Oldenburg.

Life

Ida was one of four daughters of Prince Victor II of Anhalt- Bernburg - Schaumburg- Hoym (1767-1812) from his marriage to Amalie (1776-1841), daughter of Prince Karl Christian of Nassau- Weilburg. She grew up together on with her sisters in the Anhalt Hoym and was carefully trained.

She married on 24 June 1825 in Schaumburg castle later to become the Grand Duke August of Oldenburg ( 1783-1853 ), widower of her older sister Adelheid, with whom she had performed a detailed correspondence. After three years of marriage, Ida died after the birth of the Prince in childbirth. In the year after her death in August was Grand Duke of Oldenburg. The place Idafehn in Ostfriesland was named after Princess Ida.
