Victor II, Prince of Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym

Viktor II Karl Friedrich of Anhalt- Bernburg - Schaumburg- Hoym ( born November 2, 1767 in Schaumburg Castle, † April 22, 1812 ibid ) from the house of Ascanians was a Prince of Anhalt -Bernburg - Schaumburg- Hoym.

Life

Viktor was the eldest son of Prince Karl Ludwig of Anhalt- Bernburg - Schaumburg- Hoym (1723-1806) from his marriage to Eleanor (1734-1811), daughter of Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Solms- Braunfels. He joined in 1806 succeeded his father.

As he had no male descendants from his marriage, succeeded him as prince for 71 -year-old unmarried uncle Frederick, who died in the same year and thus the line of Anhalt- Bernburg - Schaumburg- Hoym extinct in the male line. The Anhalt ownership reverted to the main line of Anhalt- Bernburg. The possessions in Nassau, the county Holzappel with Schaumburg, inherited Victor's eldest daughter, who brought them to the house of Austria. The Anhalt goods Zeiz and Belleben were there the subject of litigation, which was until 1828 ruled in favor of Bernburger main line.

Victor married on 29 October 1793 in Weilburg Amalie ( 1776-1841 ), daughter of Prince Karl Christian of Nassau- Weilburg, with whom he had the following children:
