Frederick William, Prince of Solms-Braunfels
Prince Frederick William of Solms- Braunfels (* January 11, 1696 in New Braunfels, † February 24, 1761 ibid ) was the first Prince of Solms- Braunfels.
He was the son of Count William Moritz von Solms- Braunfels (1651-1724) and his wife Magdalene Sophie of Hesse- Homburg ( 1660-1720 ).
Life
Frederick William inherited after the death of his father Moritz on February 19, 1724 its title and was now Count of Solms- Braunfels, grasping stone and Spins, Tecklenburg, Kriechingen and Lingen (Ems ), Lord of coins Mountain, Wild Rock, Sonnenwalde, Nailsworth, where hamlets and beaucourt. He enjoyed a befitting education was, however, so that he personally did not rule much of Sickly nature. Still, he could run a successful marriage policy so that his children could marry into powerful families in the country.
Financial difficulties forced him to the city of Butzbach - since 1478 family owned - for sale on March 17, 1741 in Hesse -Darmstadt.
On May 22, 1742 rose Emperor Charles VII, the House of Solms- Braunfels princes.
When Frederick William died in 1761, his eldest son, Friedrich Wilhelm Ernst became his successor.
Family
He was married three times. His first wife was Princess Magdalene Henriette of Nassau- Weilburg (1691-1725) daughter of Johann Ernst of Nassau- Weilburg. They had the following children:

On May 9, 1726, he married his second wife, Countess Sophie Magdalena Benigna of Solms- Laubach - Utphe daughter of Karl Otto of Solms - Laubach - Utphe and Tecklenburg. They had the following children

His third wife was the Countess Palatine of Birkenfeld - Gelnhausen Catherine of Charlotte (1699-1785), daughter of Johann Karl von Birkenfeld - Gelnhausen. The marriage remained childless.
