Ulrike Louise of Solms-Braunfels

Ulrike Luise of Solms- Braunfels ( born May 1, 1731 in Hungen, † September 12, 1792 in Bad Homburg, Germany ) was a countess of Solms- Braunfels and 1751-1766 regent of Hesse- Homburg.

Life

Ulrike Luise was a daughter of Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Solms- Braunfels (1696-1761) from his second marriage with Sophie Magdalena (1701-1744), daughter of Count Otto zu Solms - Laubach.

She married on 10 October 1746 Hungen the Landgrave Frederick IV of Hesse- Homburg ( 1724-1751 ). Shortly after the wedding Darmstadt troops had moved into the country and occupied country, city and castle Homburg, but the dispute could be settled.

After her husband's death, she took over with imperial confirmation, until 1766 together with Louis VIII of Hesse- Darmstadt, the regency for her first three -year old son, whom she gave to an excellent education.
