Margarete Karoline Princess of Saxony, Archduchess of Austria ( born May 24, 1840 in Dresden, Saxony, † September 15th 1858 in Monza, Italy)

Life

Margarete Karoline was the daughter of John I King of Saxony and Princess Amalie Auguste of Bavaria. Your full name is Margarete Karoline Friederike Cecilie Auguste Amalie Josephine Elisabeth Maria Johanna of Saxony.

They married on November 4, 1856 her cousin, Karl Ludwig, Archduke of Austria, son of Franz Karl, Archduke of Austria and Princess Sophie of Bavaria, in Dresden, in the Kingdom of Saxony. The marriage was happy, but lasted only two years and had no children.

On a trip to Italy Margaret fell ill with typhoid fever. She died on 15 September 1858, only 18 years in Monza. Her heart was buried in the court chapel in Innsbruck.
