Princess Maria Teresa of Savoy

Maria Theresa of Savoy, full name Maria Theresa Felicitas Fernanda Gaetana of Savoy ( born September 19, 1803 in Rome, † July 16, 1879 in Lucca) was a daughter of King Victor Emmanuel I of Sardinia and his wife Maria Theresa of Austria -Este.

On September 5, 1820, she married in Lucca Duke Karl Ludwig II of Parma and Lucca, the last king of Etruria ( 1803-1807 ).

From this marriage two children were born:

  • Princess Luisa (1821-1823)
  • Duke Charles III. of Parma, grandfather of Empress Zita of Austria.

Maria Theresa died in 1879 in San Martino in Lucca and was buried in the cemetery Campo di Verano in Rome.
