Princess Maria Theresa of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg

Maria Theresa of Löwenstein -Wertheim -Rosenberg, full first name Maria Theresia Sophie Anna Pia Melchiora ( born January 4, 1870 in Rome, † January 17, 1935 in Vienna) was a daughter of Prince Karl VI. Heinrich Ernst zu Löwenstein -Wertheim -Rosenberg and wife of the then Portuguese pretender to the throne, Duke of Braganza II Miguel.

Life

Maria Theresa of Löwenstein -Wertheim -Rosenberg was the fifth of eight children of Prince Charles VI. Heinrich Ernst zu Löwenstein -Wertheim -Rosenberg and his second wife Sophie of Liechtenstein (1837-1899), daughter of the reigning Prince Alois II ( Liechtenstein ).

The princess married on November 8, 1893 at her family residence Schloss Lowenstein to Kleinheubach the then Portuguese pretender to the throne, Duke of Braganza II Miguel. He was born a cousin of Princess Maria Theresa, as their father Prince Charles VI. a brother of Adelaide of Löwenstein -Wertheim -Rosenberg, mother of the Duke was.
