Princess Pauline of Waldeck and Pyrmont

Princess Pauline Emma Auguste Hermine of Waldeck and Pyrmont (* October 19, 1855 in Arolsen, † July 3, 1925 in Wittgenstein) was a princess of the House of Waldeck and by marriage Princess of Bentheim and Steinfurt 1890-1918.

Life

Pauline was the second daughter of Prince Georg Viktor of Waldeck and Pyrmont (1831-1893) and his first wife Princess Helene of Nassau (1831-1888), daughter of Duke William I and his second wife, Princess Pauline of Württemberg.

Pauline's sister Emma was since 1879 and since 1890 Queen Regent of the Netherlands.

On May 7, 1881 married Princess Pauline in Arolsen the Crown Prince Alexis of Bentheim and Steinfurt ( 1845-1919 ), eldest son of Prince Ludwig Wilhelm ( 1812-1890 ) and his wife Princess Bertha of Hesse- Philippsthal - Barchfeld ( 1818-1888 ). The marriage produced eight children were born:
