Princess Sophie of Schönburg-Waldenburg

Princess Sophie von Schoenburg - Waldenburg ( born May 21, 1885 in Potsdam, † February 3, 1936 in Fântânele, Romania) was Princess of Albania.

Biography

Sophie was a daughter of the Hereditary Prince Victor von Schoenburg - Waldenburg and his wife Lucia of Sayn -Wittgenstein- Berleburg (a subsidiary of the Romanian princess Pulcheria Cantacuzene ). She married on 30 November 1906 in Waldenburg Wilhelm zu Wied, nachmaliger Prince William I of Albania.

Work

Princess Sophie was trained singer and mastered five instruments. She wrote some smaller opera compositions and occasionally performed also in public. Her work " The Golden Key " was premiered in early September 1926 at the Princely Park Green field in Waldenburg. The Princess spent her last years in Romania.
