Printing registration

Pressure marks are used in the printing industry to control the pressure by color, location, and quality. They are usually positioned at the edge and cut away later. The classic print brands include crop marks, registration marks, color bars and Beschnittzugabenmarken in Desktop Publishing ( DTP ) are possibly the name of the color separation, file name and date of creation added. Print marks can be created manually or automatically in the desktop publishing programs such as InDesign, PageMaker, QuarkXPress or Scribus.

Print marks can be distinguished from printer brands.

In historical prints the print marks are usually still present, mainly curators and arc signatures to facilitate the hand bookbinder working at the collation.

The combined cutting, passport and color mark (see picture) can be ( as CMYK TIFF or CMYK EPS file ) manually placed in the layout, for example, for multiple benefits of commercial print on a press sheet.
