Private Bank

A private bank is a bank whose owner is not the public sector ( savings banks, state banks and development banks ) and not as a co-operative bank (People's cooperative banks ) is organized. They form the third pillar in the three -pillar model in Germany. The group of private banks in Germany consists of the major banks, regional banks, foreign banks and by private owners ( private bankers ) run private banks. The approximately 230 private banks in Germany are members of the Association of German Banks (BDB ).

Importance

The private banks are in Germany the smallest bank segment dar. market leaders are the public banks with a market share of more than 50 %, followed by the cooperative banks with a market share of almost a third. The rest is distributed among the private banks, the big banks cover a large part thereof.
