Pröbsten

Pröbsten was a village in the old district of Fallingbostel located, Heidmark in Lower Saxony. Residents were in 1935/36 relocated because the Wehrmacht in this area einrichtete the military training area mountains.

History

Pröbsten was first mentioned in 1337. Documented Evidence shows that there was a noble family of Pröbsten. In Pröbsten lived moorland farmers. A branch of industry was probably the Heidschnucken attitude that was to the 19th century widespread in this area.

Pröbsten been assigned together with the villages Fahrenholz and Deil over time the community Böstlingen. At the time of resettlement in 1935/36 lived in Pröbsten 208 inhabitants.

After the Second World War over continuously displaced persons were accommodated in the remaining buildings.
