Progress-Station

The Progress- station (Russian Прогресс or Прогресс -2) is a Russian (formerly Soviet ) research station in Antarctica. It is located in the Larsemann Hills oasis on the shore of Prydz Bay.

The station was set up by the 33rd Soviet Antarctic Expedition April 1, 1988 and published on 26 February 1989, to another place. In 2000, the work was stopped temporarily, but the station was re- opened in 2003.

Next is at the station, a runway, to provide air communication with other stations. Between 1998 and 2001, were powered by Progress from the Mirny station.

Since 2004 Progress is being expanded as a permanently occupied station.
