Prokoško Lake

Prokosko Lake is a glacial lake in the Massif Vranica in Bosnia - Herzegovina.

The lake is situated at an altitude of 1670 m in a road distance of 22 kilometers west of Fojnica. The access road is not paved from a point just above Fojnica. Especially the north side of the lake is surrounded by many wooden huts that serve the shepherds and forest fruit collectors as accommodation. Due to its idyllic location it is increasingly being used for tourism. In the lake there is an endemic species of Triturus newts.
