Prospect (magazine)

Prospect is a monthly publication, British consumer magazine, which deals with domestic, European and international political, social, cultural, scientific, historical, philosophical and psychological issues. It was founded in 1995 by former Germany correspondent of the Financial Times David Goodhart. In 2008, the circulation was around 27,600 copies. 2010 moved Goodhart back from the newspaper.

The text formats ranging from the analytical essay on the report to the Miscellany. A special feature is controversial " roundtable " discussion between two authors ( including Orhan Pamuk, for example, Paul Wolfowitz or Craig Venter ). Prospect is also committed to a renaissance of the short story by reproduces them a short story in each issue and support since 2005 in collaboration with BBC Radio 4 the British National Short Story Award.

Known Prospect -authors are A. C. Grayling, Gordon Brown, Wesley Clark, Timothy Garton Ash, Michael Lind, Michael Ignatieff, Francis Fukuyama, John Keegan, Margaret Atwood and J. M. Coetzee.

Political site

Prospect is not committed to a "line" on certain political issues fixed. It is considered liberal and pro-European left and gladly questioned folk wisdom ( "popular wisdom" ).
