Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy

As pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy ( Abbr. PUPPP pruritic urticarial papules of engl and plaques of pregnancy ) refers to a pregnancy -associated disease occurring in first-time mothers in the last trimester of pregnancy.

This leads to itchy rashes on stomach strongly, which heal spontaneously usually after childbirth again. You typically start in the stretch marks on the abdomen and then spread in some cases to other areas of the body. While at the beginning of the rash usually urticaria is in the foreground, dominating the remainder of the papules and plaques. A disease with similar skin gestationis is the pemphigoides. Treatment is symptomatic, including, for example by corticoids, the aetiology is unknown, the prognosis is favorable.
