Przysucha

Przysucha is a town in Poland, in the Masovian Voivodship and the seat of Powiats same name.

History

The first written record comes from the year 1415. 1710 Przysucha became a town. There were many craftsmen from Saxony and Silesia. In 1723 the town became the center of Hasidism. In 1777 there were in Przysucha 39 German, 85 Jewish and 29 Polish homes. On September 6, 1939, 70 homes were destroyed by bombs. The authorities of the Third Reich built in Przysucha a ghetto; 5000 Jews came from 27 to 31 October 1942 at the Treblinka extermination camp killed.
