Pseudiragoides florianii

Pseudiragoides florianii is a butterfly of the family of the worm moth ( Limacodidae ).

Features

The males reach a forewing length of 13 to 15 millimeters and have a wingspan of 27 to 32 millimeters. The sensors have short side branches ( Rami ), ranging almost to the sensor tip. The moths have a yellowish-brown color and are tinged with orange. The fore wings are pale yellowish brown and postal medial area. A blurry grayish spot is located in the disk Alber calibration.

In the male the uncus at the tip to a sharp spur and a small dorsal extension rejuvenated. The Gnathos is slim. The valva is elongated curved and upward. She has a short saccular extension which comprises a number of similarly sized, strong spurs. The juxtaposition is flattened. The aedeagus is apically provided with a pair of long and slender spurs.

Females and preimaginal stages ( stages of development before the moth, so egg, caterpillar and chrysalis ) have not been described.

Similar Species

P. florianii similar Pseudiragoides spadix in the basic color, but the males can be distinguished genitalmorphologisch based on the two apical, long and slender spurs of the aedeagus.

Dissemination

Pseudiragoides florianii was detected in China in the Guangxi Autonomous Region and the provinces of Fujian, Hunan and Zhejiang in 1200 to 2300 meters altitude.

Biology

The biology of the species has not been described. The moths were collected from late April to early June in 1350 to 2200 meters altitude.

System

The holotype is a male. It was founded in 1999 in the Chinese province of Shaanxi ( tai bai shan Mountains (S ), Tsinling Mountains, Houzbenzi ) caught in 1600 meters altitude. It is located in Witt Museum in Munich.

Etymology

The species was named after the Italian Alessandro Lepidopterologen Floriani, who collected, among others, some paratypes of the species.
