Pszenno

Pszenno [ pʂɛnnɔ ] ( German Weizenrodau ) is a village in the rural community Swidnica ( Schweidnitz ) in the powiat Świdnicki in the Province of Lower Silesia in Poland.

Weizenrodau, initially referred to as Weisinrod or Wisyngerode, was founded in 1243 under German law.

The name derives from the Abstammungsort from which the ancestors of Luke Watzenrode the Elder (1400-1462, citizen and merchant in Thorn ) and Lucas Watzenrode (1447-1512, Prince-Bishop of Warmia ) was derived.

With growing sugar beet since the beginning of the 19th century there was a sugar factory in Weizenrodau.

With over by the Soviet troops and Polish administration Weizenrodau in Pszenno was (Polish: wheat) renamed.
