Ptahshepses

Ptahschepses was a high official of the ancient Egyptian Old Kingdom with the title vizier. He lived during the 5th dynasty and reached the peak of his career under the kings Niuserre (reigned about 2455-2420 BC) and Djedkare (reigned about 2410-2380 BC). Ptahschepses is mainly known from his mastaba at Abusir, which is among the largest mastabas of the Old Kingdom and stresses the particular power of the government. His wife was the king's daughter Chamerernebti, who was the daughter of King Niuserre, which Ptahschepses was directly related to the royal house. Ptahschepses contributed many important titles, among which are the titles of the vizier were, of the highest officials at the court. He was also head of all works of the king, which suggests that he led important royal building projects.
