Public holidays in Indonesia

The official holidays in Indonesia ( Hari Raya ) will be announced each year by the Indonesian government and include both national and religious holidays. There are also several semi-official and local holidays. In addition to the 13 public holidays, there are four official holidays. The religious holidays are celebrated locally varying degrees depending on religious affiliation of the population.

The Buddhist holidays and Chinese New Year are based on the Chinese lunisolar calendar and are variable in relation to the Gregorian calendar. The Balinese New Year is directed accordingly by the Balinese lunar calendar. Likewise, the Islamic festivals are according to the Islamic lunar calendar and shorter pure move from year to year compared to the Gregorian calendar.
