Publius Mucius Scaevola

Publius Mucius Scaevola (* 180 BC; † 115 BC) was a lawyer. The son of the consul of the year 175 BC, 141 BC elected tribunes, 136 praetor. 133 BC he was Lucius Calpurnius Piso Frugi together with Consul, as he supported the agrarian reforms of Tiberius Gracchus, while Piso she refused. According to Pomponius Publius Mucius is regarded as one of the principal authors of the Roman civil law (jus civile), and wrote a ten -volume legal work that is handed down by Cicero and later jurists partially. In 131 BC he succeeded his late brother Publius Licinius Crassus Dives Mucianus Pontifex Maximus. His grandson Manius Acilius Glabrio was 67 BC Consul.
