Puerto Rico is a town in the southwest of the Canary island of Gran Canaria and is part of the municipality of Mogan. It lies on the southern coast of the island between Arguineguin and Puerto de Mogan on the GC -1. To the west of the city Amadores, another tourist center, located in Puerto Rico. The population is 4,433 (as of 2011). Originally the Barranco Barrens and was developed only in the early seventies for tourism. The place has now grown into up in the two valleys.
