The Borneo Barbe ( Systomus anchisporus ( Syn: Puntius anchisporus, Systomus anchisporus ) ) is a freshwater fish of the carp family (Cyprinidae ). Its distribution area is located on the Indonesian island of Borneo in the rivers Kapuas, Mahakam and Bulungan.

After Baensch Riehl and the style is the same as the tiger barb, a very well known from the aquarium fish. Zarske showed, however, that there are significant morphological differences between the two species.

Features

The Borneo bar is 6.6 inches long. Your body is high backs and corresponds to that of most other belt barbel. Shape and color, with the striking, dark four wide horizontal stripes on a yellowish color, black anal and pelvic fins red, correspond largely to the tiger barb. However, in contrast to this, the Borneo bar has four barbels (Sumatra bar none), a complete lateral line with 19-23 scales is ( tiger barb incomplete) and their tail fins stalk of 14 sheds surrounded ( tiger barb 12). The last unbranched dorsal fin ray is ossified.
