The Purari (English Purari River ) is a river which rises in the south central highlands of Papua New Guinea. It is 470 km long and flows through the Gulf Province in the Gulf of Papua, where he finally ends. The Purari has a catchment area of 33,670 km ² and is the third largest river in Papua New Guinea.
Tributaries are the rivers Kaugel, Erave, Tua and Pio.
