Purbach (crater)

Purbach is a vast impact crater in the southwest of the Moon front, east of Mare Nubium, south of the crater Thebit and north of Regiomontanus.

The rim is eroded, the interior largely flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German mathematician and astronomer Georg von Peuerbach.
