Thebit (crater)

Thebit is an impact crater on the Moon's front page on the eastern edge of the Mare Nubium, northwest of the crater Purbach and southwest of Arzachel. West of the Rupes Recta Thebit runs.

The crater is moderately eroded, and the interior is traversed by numerous fractures and a north-western part of the edge is overlapped by the large craters Thebit A.

The crater was in 1935 by the IAU by the Syrian Thabit ibn Qurra mathematician and astronomer ( Latinized Thebit ) officially named.
