Puri is a city with 200,000 inhabitants ( 2011 census ) in the Indian state of Odisha in the Bay of Bengal. Here is the Hindu Jagannath Temple, the non-Hindus may not enter. Because of this temple Puri is one of the holy cities of Hinduism. Not least because of Puri is a popular tourist destination. The big, long sandy beach teeming most of people, but in some places is strongly littered. In the summer takes place every year the great religious festival of Rath Yatra.
Just 35 km from Puri is the Sun Temple of Konark. Trips there therefore often begin with a stay at Puri.
In Puri, the Bring Your Own Film Festival takes place.
