Pustá Kamenice

Pustá Kamenice ( German Wüst Kamenitz, even libertine Kamnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 13 kilometers east of Hlinsko and belongs to Okres Svitavy.

Geography

Pustá Kamenice is located northeast of Saarer mountains at the transition to Schön Hengster back ( Hřebečovský hřbet ) in the valley of the brook Kamenická voda. To the east rises the Velké paseky (713 m ) southeast of the Zizkov ( 753 m) and Spálený Kopec ( 765 m), in the south of Bubnovaný Kopec (780 m) and Zkamenělý zámek (775 m). The village is part of the conservation area Zdarske Hills. North leads the state road I/34 between Hlinsko and Polička over. The village lies on the railway line Svitavy - Žďárec u Skutče where in Pustá Kamenice a railway station and a bus stop are located. By Pustá Kamenice leads the European watershed between the Elbe and Danube.

Neighboring towns are Rychnov and Františky in the north, St. Katherine and Cerkytle in the east, Bukovina, Borová, Blatina and Damašek the southeast, Kopec and Ruda in the south, Čachnov the southwest, Pešasova Haj, Porostliny, district Pekelec and Radčany in the west and Pec, Krouna and Vápenky in the northwest.

History

Kamenice was probably created in the 13th century during the colonization of the jungle on the border with Moravia. With the development with Vierseithöfen the first settlers were probably German colonists. The old wooden church to have been built around 1350 by Kohler and miners. The oldest written records of Kamenitz took place in 1392 in the country table, as the rule of Richburg handed Smil Flaška of Pardubice with the associated 62 villages on Otto von Bergow and Boček II of Podiebrad. Presumably, the town was destroyed during the Hussite wars in 1421 during the battle of Polička. When Jan of Pardus 1456 Vrátkov the rule Richburg described, he gave Moravska Rybná, Kamenice and Schonau as totally desolate places. 1584 was the village of 15 In time residents. 1661 lived in 11 houses 35 residents. Residents living at the time of the logging and charcoal burning. 1690 began the mining of iron ore in Ruda, which was operated until 1829. 1772 north-west of Pustá Kamenice built a blast furnace at the Macha - mill, by which the settlement was Pec.

After the abolition of patrimonial Pustá Kamenice formed in 1850 a municipality in the administrative district of Vysoke Myto. The blast furnace was shut down. At its factory in slag heaps are still visible and get ring walls in the ground. 1897 was the village after the completion of the local railway Zwittau - Polička - Skutsch a railway connection. In 1949 the parish was assigned to the Okres Polička and 1961 the Okres Svitavy.

Attractions

  • The Church of St.. Anna was born in 1680 in place of an old proven since 1350 wooden church, which had to be demolished in 1677 due to decay. The early baroque building built with the support of Franz Anton Berka of Dubé and 1763 transformed baroque at the instigation of Philip Graf Kinsky. 1883 was another neo-Gothic style.
