Pyay
Division
Pyay ( Prome formerly ) is a town in Myanmar. It belongs to the Bago Division. According to a census, the city had in the year 1983 83.000 inhabitants, in 2005 the population was estimated at 135,000.
Location
Pyay lies 290 km north of the capital Yangon in a bend of the Irrawaddy.

Attractions
In the city center is the Shwesandaw Pagoda. In the stupa should be kept a few hairs of the Buddha.
Eight kilometers away are the ruins of the city of Sri Ksetra. It was the capital of the Pyu kingdom.
