Pyotr Nikiforov

Pyotr Mikhailovich Nikiforov (Russian Пётр Михайлович Никифоров; * 30 Septemberjul / October 12 1882greg in Ojok, Irkutsk Governorate, .. † January 6, 1974 in Moscow) was a Russian Communist revolutionary, Soviet functionaries and politicians. He was chairman of the Council of Ministers (Head of State ) of the Far Eastern Republic.

Life

Nikiforov came from a working-class family and had to pursue even at the age of 12 years of work. He joined the revolutionary movement in 1901 and was since 1904 a member of the Social Democratic Workers' Party of Russia ( RSDLP ). In 1905 he was sent as an agitator for the Russian fleet in Kronstadt. After the end of the sailors' mutiny in Kronstadt, he went into hiding and worked for the RSDLP in various Russian cities before 1908, the leadership of the military department of the RSDLP in Irkutsk took over. In 1910 he was arrested and initially sentenced to death, the sentence was commuted to 20 years hard labor. After the February Revolution of 1917 he was discharged and a member of the Irkutsk Soviets, then Vice President of Vladivostok Soviets. Nikiforov was also a member of the Far Eastern Bureau of the RSDLP ( B), and editor of the newspaper " Красное знамя " (engl. The Red Flag ).

After the incorporation of the buffer state in the Russian SFSR Niniforow conducted from 1923 to 1925 the joint-stock bank for electrification " Elektrobank " (Russian Электробанк ). From May 1925 to September 1927 he was Ambassador Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of the USSR in Mongolia. Subsequently, he worked at the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR and as Deputy People's Commissar for supply of the RSFSR
