Goldzünsler ( Pyrausta aurata )

Pyrausta is a butterfly genus in the family Crambidae. It is within this family, the type genus of the subfamily Pyraustinae.

Habitat

This habitat of species of Pyrausta include lawns, gardens and grassy places.

Way of life

The species of the genus Pyrausta have developed a variety of forage crops. The caterpillars feed usually near the ground together in spun leaves of fodder plants.

Dissemination

The genus is distributed worldwide.

The genus Pyrausta about 75 species are currently being calculated. In Europe so far 20 species were recorded, 14 species occur in Central Europe.
