Pyroderces brosi

Pyroderces brosi is a butterfly (moth ) from the family of the splendor butterfly ( Cosmopterigidae ).

Features

The moths have a wingspan of 13 mm. The head is white and yellowish brown on the sides. The sensors are ocher- gray and have a white line that extends from the base up to a fifth of the probe length. The thorax is yellowish brown. The tegulae are lined with yellowish brown and white inside. The forewings are yellowish white and pale mixed yellowish brown. At the wing base in the anal fold a short white line. The basal region is pale up to 1 /4 of the forewing length yellowish brown and the wing inner edge. It is bounded by a line extending obliquely outwards, very indistinct binding. Above the anal fold runs a yellowish brown line of 1 /3 to 2 /3 of the forewing length. He widens apically and darker. A narrow, yellowish brown bar is located at the inner edge of the wing apex. The fringe scales are at the apex ocher on the wing inner margin yellowish white. The hind wings are gray.

Similar to the genital armature of the males of the Pyroderces argyrogrammos and Pyroderces caesaris, but differs by the rather short, strong and parallel- right brachium and the slightly curved Manica. By P. argyrogrammos you can P. brosi distinguished by the curved left Brachiums and P. caesaris by the short and spatulate Valven.

The genital armature of the female is unknown.

Dissemination

Pyroderces brosi has so far been found only in Italy.

Biology

About the biology of the species is so far not known. The holotype was caught in the first third of June.
