Qiangba Puncog

Qiangba Puncog ( Champa Phüntshog; MAY 1947 in Qamdo ) is the chairman of the government of the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People 's Republic of China.

Qiangba Puncog first worked in a factory for agricultural machines in Qamdo and then studied mechanical engineering at the University of Chongqing (Sichuan ). In May 1974 he joined the Communist Party of China. After graduating, he returned to his operation and later held various posts in the administration of Tibet, first in the county Bome ( Nyingchi ), then in Shannan, finally at the level of Autonomous Region and at the national level. Since May 2003 he has been chairman of the government of the Tibet Autonomous Region. In addition Qiangba Puncog is a member of the 17th Central Committee of the CCP.
