Qiongzhu Temple

The Qiongzhu Temple, or Bamboo Temple (Chinese筇竹寺, Pinyin Qiongzhu sì, English Qiongzhu Temple / Bamboo Temple ) in Kunming in the Chinese province of Yunnan is a Buddhist temple. He is in the northwest of Kunming on the Yu'an Shan玉 案 山. It is the first temple in Yunnan from the Zhongyuan area ( the central regions of China ) introduced Chan Buddhism (Chan zong ), it was built at the beginning of the Mongol dynasty. The present structure dates from the time of the Qing Dynasty. The system consists of main hall, Luohan Hall, Huayan Pavilion among others

The sculptor Li Guangxiu黎 广 修from Sichuan created there from 1883-1890 with some students the famous sculptures of the Five Hundred Arhats (Chinese Luohan Wubai五百 罗汉): 216 Fanyin Pavilion, 216 in Tiantailai pavilion and 68 in the Daxiong Hall.

The Qiongzhu Temple ( Qiongzhu si) since 2001 has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 5-406 ). He is one of the National Chinese Buddhism temple of focus on Han Chinese territory.
