The Quadriga Consort is an Austrian Ensemble for Early Music.

Since then, the harpsichordist Nicholas Newerkla founded the ensemble in 2001 in Graz, the ensemble achieved success in international competitions ( ERTA Germany, Berlin Gotthard Schierse Foundation) and performed at early music festivals throughout Europe and the USA. With the coming from South Africa folk and pop singer Elisabeth Kaplan, Quadriga Consort, the specializes in popular music from the British Isles from the Baroque period and the Renaissance.

The ever-present in the same occupation Quadriga Consort ( originally eight - since the untimely death of the viola da gamba Elizabeth Short in 2005 - seven Austrian musician ) is known for his rousing, almost pop concerts similar appearances.

Distinctive mark of the ensemble is that the consistently unanimously traditional tunes and songs, mostly traditional nature or with no known composers, are newly arranged for period instruments. Among others, there are pieces in old collections ( re-) discovered for the first time since its inception over 300 years ago usually go to perform or be recorded on tape. The Consort has recorded about the only ensemble of the original sound - movement songs in Scottish Gaelic. The arrangements and compositions by Nicholas Newerkla always shift between historical art music, popular and traditional music and in some cases were published by Barenreiter and Moeck in Germany.
