Quinlan Terry

Quinlan Terry ( born July 24, 1937 in London ) is a British architect. He was known for his rejection of modern designs and materials and Palladian -classical or neohistoristische buildings in the UK and the USA.

Life

Terry studied from 1955 to 1960 at the London Architectural Association School. In 1962 he joined the staff of Raymond Erith in Dedham ( Essex ). Excellent with a Rome scholarship, he studied 1967/68 ancient buildings in Italy. In 1967 he became a partner in Eriths office and after his death in 1973, sole owner. Since 1994, his son Francis Terry is his partner.

Terry is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. 1994, 2003, 2005 and 2008 were honored by him with architectural awards designs. Critics, including celebrities such as Richard Rogers, epigonism accuse him and engage partially violently against the execution of his designs.
