Quique Dacosta

Quique Dacosta ( * 1972 in Jarandilla de la Vera / Spain ) is a Spanish chef.

Life

Dacosta was followed by his mother at the age of fourteen years to Dénia, which is located in the tourist area of ​​Costa Blanca, in the Alicante province of the Valencian Community. There he started as a dishwasher, worked in a pizzeria and went in the following years through the school of restaurants, tapas bars and grills.

1991 saw the opening of his restaurant El Poblet in Denia, in which he could realize his ideas about the preparation of food and its presentation. Since that time, Dacosta received dozens of awards for its cuisine. Since November 2009, his restaurant is named Quique Dacosta, Restaurante. The chef considers it important that the raw materials come for its food from local production within no more than 75 kilometers.

Dacosta writes in haute cuisine magazine Apicius.
