Province of Alicante

The province of Alicante ( Valencian Alacant, Alicante Spanish ) is an autonomous region of Valencia belonging Spanish province. It has 1,945,642 inhabitants ( 2013). Capital is Alicante.

Among the most important towns in the province include not only the capital of Alicante in the south, among others, Elche, Torrevieja, Orihuela, Villajoyosa, Benidorm, Altea, Alcoy, Jávea and Dénia, the northernmost town in the province. The coast of Alicante is the Costa Blanca ( German: White Coast ).
