Qusay Munir

Qusai Munir (Arabic قصي منير, Qusai Munir DMG; born April 12, 1981 in Nasiriyah ) is an Iraqi football player. He currently plays for the Qatar Sports Club in the Qatar Stars League.

The midfielder started in 1998 at the age of 17 years, his career at the Baghdad Erstligisten as- Sinaa, where he played five seasons in the Iraqi league. After the Gulf War, he moved to city rivals al - Quwa al - Dschawiya, there Munir spent only one year and then moved to Al -Khor Sports Club in the Qatari and later to Al- Hazm in the Saudi league. In 2006, he returned to Iraq and signed a contract with FC Arbil, with whom he was in 2007 Iraqi champions. In the same year he moved abroad again. In 2008 he signed at the Qatar Sports Club.

His international debut for the Iraqi national team, he was in 2002. In 2004, Munir took part in the Asia Cup, where he scored his first goal Turkmenistan 3-2. In the same year he also belonged to the Iraqi Olympic team that finished fourth in Athens. In 2005 he won the West Asian Games with the Iraqi team. On 15 July 2006, Munir moved during a friendly match against Syria to an injury, which is why it turned out almost a year. It was only on 13 July 2007, he completed another international match.

For the Asian Cup 2007 he was first appointed only as a reserve player, but could join the team a few days before the start of the tournament. In the final round, he completed five of the six Iraqi games and was, together with the team champions of Asia. In total, he completed 74 games and scored 5 goals for the Iraqi team (August 2012)
