The Czech Rychlostní silnice 48 ( expressway R48 ) branches at Bělotín from the D1 and leads over Nový Jičín, Frýdek- Místek, Český Těšín continue to Czech-Polish border. In Poland, the route continues as S1. Although large parts of the route between Bělotín -východ and Rychaltice four lanes ( two lanes in each direction ) are already developed, correspond to these sections are not the Trassierungsanforderungen to a major road, so a conversion is planned. In contrast, however, it is with the section Frýdek- Místek - Český Těšín that has structurally separate carriageways and a standard cross-section of 22.5 m. Since December 2012, the section has Rychaltice - Frýdek- Místek over the standard cross-section of 22.5 m.
