Rabbi Ammi

R. Ammi ( Ammi Ben Natan, also: Immi ) was an amora of the 2nd and 3rd generation in Palestine and lived and worked in the third century AD.

With Assi he made the most significant student couple from school R. Johanan at Tiberias. They were called the most esteemed priests or judges Palestine Palestine. Mostly they were of one opinion. Among other things, they decided to declare the Samaritans finally as " Gentiles."

R. Ammi stayed several times in Babylonia, and perhaps studied at the school Raws in Sura, whose maxims he also handed down.

After the death of Johanan Ammi was elected to Tiberias to the school principal.

Ammi was probably also students Hoshaiah and is mentioned not only in conjunction with Assi, but also together with Hiyya II.
