Rabiu Afolabi

Rabiu Afolabi ( born April 18, 1980 in Oshogbo ) is a Nigerian football player with a Belgian passport to the position of a defender.

Club career

Rabius first football stop was the NEPA Lagos in Nigeria, but which he left in 1997 to Belgium and moved to Standard Liege. There he became a regular player and became the season 2000/ 01 awarded to Napoli. Rabiu Afolabi in 1999 played an important role in the U19 African Cup of Nations, when he scored both goals for the 2-0 win in the semi-final against Cameroon. But in the final he was defeated by the Nigeria U19 team from Ghana 0:1. After that, he was captain of the U20 national team and led them to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 1999.

His debut in the national team of Nigeria he gave on 17 June 2000 at the World Cup qualifier against Sierra Leone. He was also part of the Nigerian team that participated in the 2002 World Cup in Japan / South Korea and the Africa Cup 2008 in Ghana.
