Rachid Koraïchi

Racxid Koraïchi (* 1947 in Ain Beida in eastern Algeria ) is an Algerian painter and illustrator.

Life

Koraïchi comes from a Sufifamilie. He was familiar from his youth with the old, graphical texts of the Arab- Muslim tradition and learned the rock paintings in the Algerian Tassili n'Ajjer know. His studies he began in Algiers at the École des Beaux-Arts d' Alger, before he went to Paris to study at the École nationale supérieure des arts Décoratifs de Paris continues.

Since 1970 Koraïchis works were seen in all parts of the world. His drawings in which very often the Arabic Calligraphy is used to illustrate more than a dozen publications of French and international poets.

Koraïchi lives in Paris and in the old city of Tunis in Tunisia.
